Glass cover normally sits apart from the rest of a comprehensive policy, which is why a windscreen claim usually leaves your no-claims bonus alone. We deal with the insurer directly and you deal with the excess.
Registration, insurer and policy number. We check what your cover actually says before anything is booked, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

The single most common misunderstanding in this trade is that an insurer gets to decide who fits your glass. It does not, and the wording almost always says so if you read far enough.
An insurer may recommend a fitter from its own network, and there is nothing wrong with those. What it cannot do is compel you. If you want us, tell them, and if they push back, tell us and we will speak to them.
What some policies do is cap the payout if you use a non-approved fitter. That is a real thing and we will check for it before you commit. If there is a gap between the cap and the cost, you will hear the number from us in advance rather than discovering it afterwards.
Practically, we invoice the insurer and you pay only the glass excess, which is usually stated separately in your policy and is often lower than your main excess. On a chip repair it is frequently zero.
We read what your cover actually says about glass, the excess, and any approved-fitter cap.
We ring the insurer or their handler and open it on your behalf, with the registration and damage details.
Nothing is fitted until the work is authorised, so there is no risk of an unpaid invoice landing on you.
Replacement or repair, with recalibration where the vehicle needs it, all on the same claim.
We bill them for the balance. You have paid the excess and that is the end of it.
Registration and what the damage looks like. You will see whether it can be repaired or needs replacing, whether the camera behind your mirror has to be recalibrated, and how the insurance works.
Resin injected while the damage is still small, about 40 minutes, and the glass stays original.

A repair leaves the glass in place, so the camera keeps its aim.
Most policies cover glass separately, outside your no-claims bonus, and we handle the claim with your insurer so you deal with the excess and nothing else. Vehicle details come from the DVSA record. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
We open the claim and handle the back and forth with the handler.

No surprisesUsually not. Windscreen cover normally sits apart from the rest of a comprehensive policy, so a glass claim does not touch the bonus. Check the wording, or read us the policy number and we will check it.
They can recommend. They cannot compel. Some policies do cap the payout if you go outside their network, which is different, and we check for that before you commit.
The glass excess stated in your policy, and nothing else. It is often lower than your main excess, and on a chip repair it is frequently zero.
Then the cost falls to you, and we will have told you that was a possibility before starting rather than after. We do not begin work without authorisation.
Insurance work runs exactly the same wherever you are. The only thing location changes is whether the fitting is mobile or at the unit.
